SUMMARY:Music Box Films x Dablon Movie Nights: The Stranger
DESCRIPTION:Join us fireside in The Tasting Room for a movie night with popcorn & wine! \nThe Stranger: Meursault (Benjamin Voisin) works as a clerk at an office in Algiers during the French colonial occupation. A modest man who keeps to himself\, Meursault finds his routine upended by the sudden death of his mother. At her funeral\, he faces scrutiny from all corners for his failure to perform his grief. Meursault’s reputation for otherworldly detachment carries over to all aspects of his life\, from his tentative romance with Marie (Rebecca Marder) to his indifference to professional advancement. As Meursault gets swept up in a cycle of escalating reprisals among his neighbors\, tensions come to a head when he murders an Arab man on the beach. A Frenchman may offer many defenses for shooting an Arab in Algeria\, but Meursault’s refusal of excuse or remorse shakes colonial society to its core. Photographed in sterling\, sensuous black-and-white\, François Ozon’s new take on Albert Camus’s classic novel of existentialist ennui is a landmark of adaptation\, simultaneously faithful to the text and dedicated to discovering fresh perspectives in the margins. \nTrailer: The Stranger

SUMMARY:Music Box Films x Dablon Movie Nights: A Little Prayer
DESCRIPTION:Join us fireside in The Tasting Room for a movie night with popcorn & wine! \nA Little Prayer: Bill (David Strathairn) is a pillar of his Southern community: a business owner\, a veteran\, and the proud patriarch of an unruly but loving family. His daughter Patti (Anna Camp) has returned home after the collapse of her marriage\, while his son David (Will Pullen) struggles to stay afloat. He has brought David into the family business\, but harbors doubts about his discipline and commitment. Bill gravitates towards Tammy (Jane Levy)\, his daughter-in-law and the only other person in his rambunctious household who values contemplation and repose. When Bill begins to suspect that David may be straying from his marital vows with a coworker (Dascha Polanco)\, the father must confront the perplexing inscrutability of his son’s choices and their consequences for the rest of the family. A heart-tugging drama about finding kindred spirits in unexpected places\, A Little Prayer is a sensitive and searching portrait of an American family from writer-director Angus MacLachlan. \nTrailer: A Little Prayer

SUMMARY:Music Box Films x Dablon Movie Nights: The Last One for The Road
DESCRIPTION:Join us fireside in The Tasting Room for a movie night with popcorn & wine! \nThe Last One for The Road: The bottom has fallen out for Carlobianchi and Doriano\, two small-time Italian crooks. They haven’t been able to mount an honest scam since the 2008 financial crisis and now face the impending mediocrity of middle age. The return of an exiled partner-in-crime from Argentina affords a second chance for long-buried riches\, but can Carlobianchi and Doriano put down their beers long enough to keep their eyes on the prize? Along their slow motion\, alcoholic grand tour of the Venetian countryside\, they cross paths with Giulio\, a shy architecture student who reluctantly warms to the sodden pair and indulges their rants about the folly of globalization and the slow decline of local color. Each roadside tavern offers the promise of one last drink – unless the next one ups the ante. Francesco Sossai’s dazzling sophomore feature is many things at once: a road movie\, a casual caper\, a tribute to a vanishing industrial Italy\, a scruffy intergenerational odyssey\, and free-flowing bender through time and space. \nTrailer: The Last One for The Road

SUMMARY:Music Box Films x Dablon Movie Nights: Our Blood is Wine
DESCRIPTION:Join us fireside in The Tasting Room for a movie night with popcorn & wine! \nOur Blood is Wine: Filmmaker Emily Railsback and award-winning sommelier Jeremy Quinn provide intimate access to rural family life in the Republic of Georgia as they explore the rebirth of 8\,000-year-old winemaking traditions almost lost during the period of Soviet rule. By using unobtrusive iPhone technology\, Railsback brings the voices and ancestral legacies of modern Georgians directly to the viewer\, revealing an intricate and resilient society that has survived regular foreign invasion and repeated attempts to erase Georgian culture. The revival of traditional winemaking is the central force driving this powerful\, independent and autonomous nation to find its 21st century identity. \nTrailer: Our Blood is Wine
